RTÉ’s ‘The Model Agent’, a reality TV show that follows the fortunes of a group of aspiring models, reached it’s climax last night when the final three contestants hit New York for an exacting photo shoot with – you guessed it – top shoe designer Eileen Shields!

And congrats to Carrie-Anne Burton who, later in this episode, scooped the prize of a lucrative contract with London based company Independent Models…

Winona Ryder

For anyone who can make it to the new Star Trek movie, opening this weekend, look out for the Eileen Shields’ ‘Tara’ boot, worn by Winona Ryder!

Ryder plays Spock’s human mother Amanda Grayson (remember, Spock was half-human half-vulcan). According to Star Trek.com, “Grayson was a schoolteacher from Earth who married the Vulcan diplomat Sarek and gave birth to Spock in 2230.” Good to know Eileen’s designs will still be considered classics in the 23rd Century!
